Self-taught is well taught

Khan Mohammad Rashedun Naby is our support team’s latest member. His passion for reading and self learning made him what he is today – a back and frontend developer and future NTNU alumni.

Who are you, and what is your role at Dekode?

Hello! I’m Khan, a software developer from Dhaka in Bangladesh! I have a degree in computer science, and I’ve been working as a developer for the last eight years. At Dekode, my main role is working as a backend developer, but sometimes I do frontend work as well. I’m currently on the support team (forvaltning)

How has your first few months been at Dekode?

The last five years I’ve worked with other European companies from my home office here in Dhaka, and the overall treatment has been ok. Now, however, working for Dekode is awesome! It‘s by far the best overseas company I have worked for. Dekode is a warm and welcoming workplace that takes really good care of its employees. It‘s a dream job for me, actually.

Where did you learn your craft?

I had to learn it by myself, actually. Although I have my degree in computer science, my developer-skills are self taught. Luckily, I love reading and that‘s how I’ve been able to call myself a developer for eight years now.

What is your expertise, and what are your work goals?

My expertise is mainly in backend development, but I do software architechture and solution design as well.

Dekode is a warm and welcoming workplace that takes really good care of its employees. It‘s a dream job for me, actually.

Khan Mohammad Rashedun Naby, developer at Dekode

What kind of projects are you working on right now?

I’m currently working with Høyre and Telenor, mainly backend-stuff, but also fixing some issues on their new features. My first project was Visit Nord-Norge

Are you planning to move to Norway?

Yeah, I’m actually planning to do my masters degree in NTNU, and if I get accepted, I‘ll bring my wife and move to Norway. I haven‘t learned any Norwegian yet, but my wife knows some words.

Update: Khan got accepted at NTNU Trondheim and arrived in Norway just yesterday! Way to go Khanwe’ll make sure we get you a subscription on Duolingo.
